Policy and popular people

On Tuesday Nuria show us a song of Neil Young from the web page youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4kTnP5VJ1k). In this song Neil Young explain different actions and lies from George Bush’s government.

Do you agree that popular people show their opinions? There are a lot of people in USA that have done it recently: Sean Penn, Bruce Springsteen, Susan Sarandon, REM, John Fogerty, … and a lot in the past: Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Joan Baez… Here there are some too.

I agree that musicians explain their opinions in their songs or in interviews. I think that is good than not only politicians show ideas about wars, racism or terrorism. What’s more, I think that a good song could be better if have a good message.

A lot of people think that they do it to sell more, but I think that for this people could be bad. For example, Columbia received a lot of Bruce Springsteen’s long plays and compact disc when he played in favour of John Kerry some months ago.

In conclusion, I think that is good that popular people take a position in reference with the problems around the world.

Could you change your feelings about an actor or actress because of their opinions?
