Catalans
In general people think that Catalans are mean and serious. On the other hand people know that Catalans like going to the theatre or to concerts. Related to business, Catalans are known as hard-workers, very efficient and good sellers. What’s more Catalans like eating well, enjoying with sports and travelling around the world.
Personally I think that people from other places look up a little Catalans, because a lot of times we are successful in business or in sports. For this reason, they tell that we are mean and boring to avoid talk about our outcomes. In my opinion, I don’t think that we are mean because for example when you travel find Catalans around the world. Also every night in Catalonia there are a lot of people in the cinemas, in the theatres or in the expensive restaurants.

Hi my friend. I want to answer to your post because, unfortunately, I don´t agree with many of the things you say. Firstable, actions like going to the theater, going to the cinema, eating well and in expensive restaurants, travelling around the world, etc are not actions which define Catalonians identity. Sorry, but if you think on that way I´m afraid you are totally confused. There is people who appreciate food, know about wine, go to the theatre, etc, and can be also from Bilbao, Alicante or Huelva. I have also heard that in China, Singapore and some other countries in the world there are also people who like all these things. Write things like “people from other places look up a little Catalans, because a lot of times we are successful in business or in sports” make me think that you believe the world is move by catalonians. Probably you will feel proud of being catalan and you believe better than other only for being catalan. I am catalan too but I don´t feel a special and better person for being catalan. In fact, to be Catalan, Castilian, Indian, Muslim or Chinese is a casuality of life. Think that the reason for being Catalan is just a casuality of life (you could be American, Afrikan, etc). I understand and respect you feel proud of being Catalan (I feel myself proud of be Catalan) but I don´t feel better or worse for that reason. Being better or worse is not a question of nationalities. If you really believe you are better than others only for being Catalan I think you’d must reconsider your point of view.

Firstly I want to thank you to read my post and to write your opinion about it.
Talking about the post, I think that could be I haven’t expressed correctly my opinion. I’m Catalan but I don’t feel better for this reason. I wrote that sometimes people from other places don’t like Catalans and I tried to find a reason.
Another thing, it’s that around the world there are a lot of people that like going to theatre or going to restaurants. It’s evident that not only Catalans do these things. In my post I didn’t write that only Catalans travel or that Catalans are the most travellers. My point was to talk about some things that people here do to enjoy in their free-time.

Yes, it is a pessimistic conversation but my intention was for reading it from a funny point of view. A conversation so pessimistic, two characters so unlucky that it makes laugh ;-P
